All Direct Transfer Routes From Mykonos Island National Airport (JMK)
JMK
8 min
Mykonos Airport is just 3.5 km southeast of Mykonos Town (Chora). The KTEL public bus runs frequently during the tourist season to the Fabrika bus terminal or Old Port in 10-15 minutes for just €2.50 (cash to driver). With only around 30 licensed taxis servicing the whole island, pre-booking a private transfer or hotel shuttle (€15 - €25/person) is strongly recommended over queuing at the taxi rank.
Terminals & Station Layout
The redesigned Fraport terminal blends traditional Cycladic white-washed architecture with modern amenities. Public buses and taxi lines are right outside the arrivals exit.
Taxi Rules & Scams to Avoid
Mykonos has fewer than 35 licensed taxis on the entire island. In July and August, taxi queues can exceed an hour and informal vans charge inflated €50-€80 rates. Take the €2.00 public KTEL bus or arrange a hotel pickup.
Late-Night Arrivals (After Midnight)
Many luxury hotels in Mykonos provide complimentary or paid airport shuttles—always check with your accommodation before landing.
STRESS-FREE DOOR-TO-DOOR OPTION
Prefer a Driver Waiting at Mykonos (JMK) Arrivals?
Traveling with heavy suitcases, young children, or landing after midnight? Pre-book a fixed-price private airport transfer or express rail pass on Klook with instant confirmation and no meter haggling.
ARRIVAL CONNECTIVITY & RIDE-HAILING TIP
Need Mobile Data at the Terminal for Uber (licensed luxury vans) & Maps?
Airport Wi-Fi often drops outside the terminal curb where Uber (licensed luxury vans) pickup zones are located. Install a local eSIM before your flight so you can order a ride, translate station signs, and show digital train QR tickets immediately after landing.
